A special church service followed by a candlelight vigil was in memory of the victims of the Sri Lanka Easter Attacks and in blessing of those recovering was held in Perth on the 27th April at the St. Mary's Cathedral. Organised by the Sri Lankan Catholic community of Perth with the assistance of the Honorary Consulate, this event was attended His Excellency the Honourable Kim Beazley, Governor of Western Australia, the Honourable Mark McGowan, Premiere of Western Australia, religious leaders representing all faith, and other distinguished guests.
The Easter bombings created a difficult period not only for Sri Lankans but for empaths all over the world. In the wake of such atrocities, the solace brought upon by the event was tremendous. It provided people with an opportunity to come together in memory of the innocent lives that were lost.
