The Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka in WA marshalled representatives of all Sri Lankan community organisations to a meeting on 27 May to explore methods of harnessing the support of Western Australians to assist by rendering varied areas of assistance

The Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka in Western Australia marshalled representatives of all Sri Lankan community organisations to a meeting on 27 May 2022 to explore methods of harnessing the support of Western Australians to assist by rendering varied areas of assistance. It was organised at the South of Perth Yacht club, all expenses covered by the Honorary Consul. The meeting commenced at 6.45 with the opening "Anusasana" by Perth Buddhist temple chief incumbent Ven Siri Sobitha thero. Ven thero, highlighted the importance of working together as Sri Lankans without any differences in opinions. Welcome speech and opening thoughts were presented by Hon. Consul Mr. Rosh Jalagge. Importance of providing a support to Sri Lanka at this juncture was highlighted and the purpose of the meeting was to present and discuss the potential avenues and ideas on how Perth community may work together to support Sri Lanka. It was agreed to develop an Action plan on short term and long-term basis.
