Saturday the 04th February 2023 was the 75th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day.

A celebration of this commemorative event was organised by the Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka in WA in conjunction with the Sri Lankan Cultural Society of WA, and held at the South Perth Community centre.

We were honoured with the presence of Deputy Premier the Hon. Roger Cook MLA as the chief guest, along with other VIPs and special guests including Mr. Yaz Mubarakai MLA.

Of course, the event would not have been such a success had it not been for the strong turnout from the wider Sri Lankan community of Western Australia!

It was a wonderful celebration for all in attendance.
